Dear Stubbs,
Herewith I am sending you a proof of the announce-
ment of the vacancy at Kowloon School, Hong Kong, referred to
in Mr. Read's letter of the 17th ultimo (13556/1912).
I am not sure about the leave and pension rules.
Those in the announcement are the rules for the Straits
Settlements appointments and it is understood that the
Hong Kong rules are the same.
But are they applicable to
women? I imagine that no contribution to widows and
orphans fund has to be made by them.
Would you mind letting me know at once what is
Mrs. Tutcher's address in this country as there are one or
two points about the School on which I should like to consult
her before the announcement is printed off.
The candidate about whom I spoke to you a little
time ago and whom I thought we might rope in for this
vacancy has declined to stand.
R.E.Stubbs, Esq.,
Colonial Office,
Downing Street,
S. W.
Yours sincerely.
